This is a starter policy for Horizon's first launch. It should be reviewed before accepting real customers.
What Horizon Does
Horizon helps students upload a syllabus, extract assignment information, review and edit that information, save course records, and export assignment reminders.
Information We Collect
- Account information, such as your email address and login method.
- Uploaded syllabus files and extracted assignment data.
- Saved course records, including edits you make in the app.
- Subscription status and Stripe customer identifiers needed for billing.
- Basic technical information needed to run, secure, and debug the service.
Google Sign-In
If you use Google sign-in, Horizon receives the account details Google provides for authentication, such as your email address and Google account identifier. Horizon uses this information to create or access your Horizon account.
Payments
Horizon uses Stripe for checkout, subscription status, and billing management. Horizon does not store your full card number. Stripe processes payment details according to Stripe's own policies and terms.
How We Use Information
- To create and manage your Horizon account.
- To process syllabi and show assignment information in the app.
- To save your course data so you can return to it later.
- To manage free and paid plan access.
- To troubleshoot, secure, and improve Horizon.
AI Processing
Horizon uses AI extraction to read uploaded syllabi and identify likely course assignments. You should review the extracted results before relying on them.
Data Sharing
Horizon shares information only as needed to operate the service, including with authentication, payment, hosting, and AI processing providers. Horizon does not sell student syllabus data.
Your Choices
- You can edit saved assignment data inside Horizon.
- You can manage billing from the Stripe billing portal when available.
- You can delete free account data in the app. Paid users should cancel billing before account deletion.
- You can also request account or saved data deletion by contacting Horizon support.
